Part of FFG’s Organized Play season for 2013, the regionals are a great way to meet new opponents and friends, hone your skills, and compete for unique prizes. This year, there are more venues hosting Regional Championship events than ever before, with over six hundred tournaments being held worldwide.

Dobble Challenge

We’ve recently launched our Dobble Challenge for independent bricks and mortar stores. You can check the terms and conditions below as well as the video tutorial.
Terms & Conditions:
1. This competition refers to Esdevium Games’ “Dobble” card game and is open to all UK independent bricks and mortar stores who currently deal or will start dealing with Esdevium Games up to Friday 17th January 2014 (before London Toy Fair). Stores selling Dobble on Amazon Marketplace or equivalent online outlets are not eligible for this promotion.
2. Participating stores must purchase 100 or more units of Dobble from Esdevium Games (to be sold via demonstrations in-store) in the specified time period to qualify for a £1 per unit sold credit to their Esdevium Games account. There will be no exceptions to this rule. Stores’ initial orders of 12 Dobble to obtain a free demo copy will count towards their 100 unit target, however, the free demo copy will not. Only company credit will be issued. No cash, cheques or other payments will be issued by Esdevium Games.
3. Participating stores who purchase 100 or more units of Dobble will also be entered into a grand prize draw to win a laptop or tablet of their choice (max. value £500).
4. Prize draw will take place on the final day of London Toy Fair 2014, 23rd January, and winner will be notified on the same day if possible or within 7 days from that date.
5. Only over-the-counter sales in a bricks & mortar store will be accepted.
6. Prizes are subject to availability. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, Esdevium Games reserves the right to (a) substitute prizes to that of equivalent or greater value and (b) in exceptional circumstances, amend or terminate the promotion without notice.
7. The winner must claim their prize within 1 month of notification. If the prize is unclaimed after this time, Esdevium Games reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with these rules.
8. The winners agree to take part in reasonable post event publicity and to the use of their names, retail store and photographs in such publicity.
9. By entering the prize draw each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions, which are non-negotiable.
10. These terms and conditions are governed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Star Wars Kessel Run [Participating Stores]

In partnership with FFG, Esdevium will now be supporting stores in organising their own Kessel Run Events.
The Kessel Run preview event is an exclusive X-Wing tournament taking place in December and a limited number of retailers will have a chance to participate. As the second wave of X-Wing expansions won’t be available until February, this exclusive event will provide players with an opportunity to see some of their favourite new starships in action!
Participating stores will each receive a preview kit containing the following items (limit one kit per store):
One Millennium Falcon™ Expansion Pack
One Slave I™ Expansion Pack
Two A-Wing™ Expansion Packs
Two TIE Interceptor™ Expansion Packs
A promotional poster featuring art from the expansions
An instructional letter detailing how to run a Kessel Run tournament
The Tournament
Players bring 100-point squadrons and compete through a number of Swiss-style preliminary rounds while following all the standard rules described in the X-Wing Tournament Rules document.
However, in the final round, everything changes! After the close of the preliminary rounds, the tournament’s two top players set aside their personal squads and assume control of preview squads built from the event kits. Then, each of the tournament’s top four participants get to claim one of the preview expansions!

Esdevium to launch Game of Thrones board game next month

HBO property has been made into a board game and will be supplied to the UK from next month by specialist, Esdevium.
Game of Thrones will be a card-based game for two players based on the epic HBO series where players wage war in the fields of Westeros and conspire to crush their opponents in court at Kings Landing. The award-winning TV show achieved huge popularity after airing its first 2 series on Sky Atlantic and the game is set to be the perfect gift for fans this Christmas.
Esdevium’s Ben Hogg commented:
“We’re really excited to be launching Game of Thrones before Christmas. We feel the series lends itself particularly well as a game whilst still keeping the themes of the books and TV show very close to its heart. It’s an ideal Christmas gift for fans of the show.”
It’s the latest adaptation of a popular TV/film property for Esdevium, who already supply licensed games of Take Me Out, Would I Lie to You?, The Big Bang Theory, Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who and The Hunger Games.
